Dont know which engine trans you guys are talking about. On my 2011 hemi with the 5 speed. Dropped the pan, 2 internal filters. One panel and the other a cylindrical like a small oil filter. Cleaned up surfaces resealed and bolted up. Waited til the next day to fil. All done. My trans has a dipstick to ck oil level

Engines- (oil capacity) 3.7L V6 5qts Engine Oil. 4.7L V8 6qts Engine Oil. 5.7L V8 7qts Engine Oil. Differentials oil Capacity. The 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee's 3.7L V6 (5 quarts) and 4.7L V8 (6 quarts) both need 5W30 synthetic based oil. The 5.7L V8 for the 2006 Grand Cherokee requires 7 quarts of 5W20 (required for those with MDS) synthetic oil. 0W40 synthetic formulated oil is for the 6.1L V8 in the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Because of your 5.7L HEMI MDS system. you need to run 0w - 20 or 5w -20. some people, not all, have switched to 5w - 30 & the MDS still functioned & they didn't get a trouble light. The dealership had put in 5w - 30 in my 2009 Ram 1500 & a light came on before i had driven the 7 miles to my place.
