Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX mileage is 17.24 kmpl (certified). BMW S1000R mileage is 16.13 kmpl (company-claimed). Yamaha MT-10 expected mileage is 14.64 kmpl (approximate). In terms of performance, the 1000cc sports bike can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in around 3.3 seconds.
That's not to say the 07/9 can't handle highways.. They're just typically more fun in the lower revs. I've test ridden both MT-09 (no 07..) & gsx-s 750, and between the two I prefer the MT's engine, but the gsx looks. Between the bikes you listed, I'd suggest starting on an 07 then moving to an 09 after getting some street km/miles on the saddle.
The steel frame in this one, which Yamaha calls a “diamond-type tube frame,” looks a lot like the one in the MT-07, and that bike is a MO fave in the handling department (as well as the engine one); MT-03 chassis dimensions are very similar to the 07. The MT-03’s rake is 0.2-degrees steeper, at 24.8 deg., and its trail is 0.2 inches
MT-07, and its spunky 689 twin-cylinder motor, has always been a crowd favorite at MO. MT-10 was an immediate hit with its crazy crossplane 999 cc R1 motor… MT-03 is fine for getting your feet wet… but MT- (nee FZ)-09 has never seemed to quite exactly hit the mark, even though it was close enough to win MO’s coveted Best Value award in 2015.
Stepping onto Yamaha’s MT-07 HO (High Output) means stepping over the $10K threshold and for some buyers, that’s quite a mental hurdle. Investing an additional $900 or so could mean the difference between buying a bike and some quality riding kit, or just getting the bike.
